
On Friday, the three -day “organic mango and the Jackfruit fair” organized by the horticultural department in cooperation with Jaivik Krishik were inaugurated. Mel was organized in the auditorium of Dr. MH Marigowda in Lalbagag.
“The aim of this was to create awareness among Bengalur’s inhabitants on ecological foods and to provide a good market for more than 1.5 lakh farmers who practice organic farming in the state. If ecological products get more demand, then there will be more farmers to practice it.
Miyazaki Mango, Red Ivory Mango, Banana Mango and Jackfruit without seeds are some of the main attractions in grinding. Rangaswamy C, the founder of kindergarten Annapurneshwari in Shivamogg, is the first to grow Mango Miyazaki in the state and aims to introduce fruit to the market through the event. Mel also shows a rare manga of heritage directly from the Tip Sultan’s, Bada Bagh (300 -year -old garden).
There are more than 85 mango species and 60 jackfruit varieties available at the mela. Fruits come from the districts of Hubballi, Chikkamagalur, Mysur and Tumacuru.
Mrs. Iqbal also noted that Jaivik Krishik is successful in converting about 10,000 hectares into organic farming, although it has been difficult to convince farmers. She said that the plan is to increase it to 30,000 hectares by next year.
