Three children, including two siblings, drowned on Thursday (May 2, 2025) in a pond in Peddakothapally Mandala from the Nagarnoool district. The deceased were identified as thirteen -year -old A. Ganesh, his ten -year -old sister A. Rakshita and their friend ten -year -old B. Varun.
According to the police, six children went to the village pond between 16:00 and 17:00 to play and swim. “Three of them entered the water and drowned because they didn’t know how to swim,” the officer said. Others ran to alert the cattle shepherds who graze sheep in the field near the pond. The heads threw themselves into the place and tried to save the children.
The police added that the children did not inform their families before they went to the pond. Their bodies were restored around 18:00 and sent for the afterlife test at the Nagarnoool Government Hospital. The case has been reserved and the investigation is underway.
