The Hyderabad District Election Authority has registered three cases against non-local MLAs and MLCs for allegedly entering the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency on polling day, Tuesday (November 11), in violation of the model code of conduct.
The District Election Office informed that two cases have been registered against leaders from the Indian National Congress. The first case filed at the Madhuranagar police station names Ramachandra Naik and Beerla Ilaiah of the Congress. Another case was registered at Borabanda police station against Shankar Naik and Matta Dayananda, also from the Congress. A third case was filed at the same police station against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar and Methuk Anand.
According to officials, the cases were filed after individuals allegedly involved in campaigns entered the constituency despite restrictions imposed under election guidelines. The district election office said that while members of the public can campaign before the end of the official deadline, they cannot be present in the polling district unless there are registered voters.
