
The forest department was arrested by three people over the poisoning of the tiger, whose carcasses were found near the village of Pachchedoddi in Hanur Range Mm Hills Wildlife Sanctuary.
The accusations are Ganesha, Sampu and Pacchemall and are local.
A representative of the forest conservator Bhaskar said that the accused had confessed to a crime and admitted that he had poisoned the tiger before his dismantling. The motive was to kill revenge because they lost animals for the tiger, he added.
Based on the interrogation of the accused authorities, they initiated for four others who were involved in the crime, Mr. Baskar said.
A special team led by PCCF Smita Bijjur is investigating the case and officials from the Office for Crime Control are also part of the investigation.
