
The Seshadripuram police on Tuesday arrested three persons for allegedly robbing a 25-year-old Sudanese national in Bengaluru on October 8.
The accused, identified as Philps George, 29, Vikram, 25, and Ajith, 29, were traced based on an online transaction between the victim and the accused.
According to the police, on October 8 around 12.40 pm, the victim was returning on his two-wheeler from Koramangala. The accused confronted him on his bike near Rajiv Gandhi Circle in Seshadripuram and asked him to stop. Although the victim tried to flee, the trio pursued him. The victim lost control and fell off the bike. All three allegedly caught him, took his mobile phone and bike key and demanded the release of his valuables.
The accused allegedly forced the victim to transfer ₹11,000 from his mobile phone, took over his scooter and fled the scene.
With the help of passers-by, the victim called the police, who reached the spot, took the student to a hospital for treatment and later registered a case of robbery with the Seshadripuram police.
The police seized two two-wheelers from the accused (one used in the criminal activity and one belonging to the complainant), four mobile phones of the accused and the complainant and 11,000 CZK in cash.
In a similar incident, the Kengeri police arrested two people who allegedly robbed an ITI student and his younger brother of valuables while they were walking home after dinner in Kengeri on Sunday evening.
The accused, identified as Pratap, 22, and his associate Madesha, 21, were arrested on a complaint filed by Sharath K. The victim, who had come for ITI training and was staying with her friend, was returning home along with her younger brother to her accommodation after dinner when the incident took place.
The accused along with another accomplice allegedly approached them on a scooter, threatened them and robbed them of their valuables including phone, watch and even forced them to transfer ₹3,500 from his phone online to his account.
