The magnificent “Aazhi Other” festival of Godpalambal Sli Sri vanmeeeganathar temple, popularly known as Sri Tyrajaswamy Temple, Tiruverur, was celebrated by playing and religious enthusiasm on April 7.
The wooden car, in which the “Utsava Moorthy” idols were decorated with the Sri thyagarajaswamy processing 6th April (Sunday) in the evening, were excluded from the “Aaroora”, “Aaroora” on Monday morning.
The devotees pulled out a gigantic wooden car, weighed more than 300 tons and equipped with iron wheels and hydraulic breaking, along four streets of cars and brought it back on board in the evening. Earthmovers were deployed to help the devotees to pull the four streets of the car.
The annual festival began with flags lifting on March 15 (at Hastha Nakhatram in the Maasi Tamil month) and the festival of wooden car was celebrated on April 7 (Aayilya Nakshaatram in Tamil Panguni).
