Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed on Wednesday that Israeli forces are close to the full encirclement of the city of Gaza. In an interview with reporters, Katz said that the Israeli defensive forces (IDF) are currently taking control of the western part of the Netzarim corridor, south of Gaza, reaching to the coast.
“This will tighten the encirclement around the city of Gaza and all who leave it in the south will be forced to go through the IDF checkpoints,” Katz said according to Israel.
Warning to the inhabitants of Gaza
Katz stressed that this phase of the operation represents a critical point for civilians in Gaza.
“This is the last opportunity for the inhabitants of Gaza who want them to move south and leave Hamas terrorists isolated in Gaza City, in the face of IDF, which continues with full force,” he added.
He further explained that those who remain in the city of Gaza will largely “terrorists and supporters of terror”.
IDF has prepared for all scenarios
Katz stressed that IDF is preparing for all eventuality and is determined to continue its operations until specific goals have been met.
“IDF is preparing for all options and is determined to continue its operations, until all hostages and disarmament of Hamas on the way to the end of the war,” Katz said as an output of news.
