On Tuesday, in Tirupati, Tirupati, Tirupati, the priests bound “vadibalu”.
The highly anticipated annual folk festival in Tirupati began on Tuesday at the Sri Tataiahgunta Gangamma temple with priests bound “Vadibalu”, a sacred offer, a stone column located in front of the temple. Several devotees gave the temple to testify to the offer.
The vadibalu binding practice is monitored by the old Tom-Tom (Chatimp) system, where people carrying drums walk around the city to announce the beginning of the festival. He also sends reports to the indigenous people not to leave Temple Town until the end of the festival on May 13th.
Prohibition
The announcement is considered a dictation from the goddess Gangamma to “avoid traveling” and remain on the outskirts of the city. However, due to the smooth expansion of the temple city over the decades, the locals who require travel usually remain in neighboring villages during the “chatimp” to avoid “ban on travel”.
According to folklore, the local chief (Palegad) behaved with a gangamma who committed to kill himself. After Palegada hid, Gangamma visited the city in various forms to attract him. It was the last day and killed him. Gangamma is idealized as the embodiment of female power and is worshiped as a Savior.
Devatives also advocate different clothes to give the goddess. The first three days throughout their body are blurred by coal, limestone paste and vermilion (kumkum). Later, they appear in the form, either representing demonic and mythological characters.
Tirupati MLA Arani Srinivasulu, accompanied by public representatives and alliance leaders, introduced an offer in the temple by carrying it on his head.
