Thiruvananthapuram Corporation identified a total of 3,353 street sellers operating business companies in different parts of the city. Of this, 500 identity suppliers have already issued a civic body. The company has now launched steps to distribute the same remaining sellers and those who are included in the list of recipients for the RKV Road sales zones near Museum, Shangumughom Beach, and Charithi Vedhi in Fort.
The civic body also has fees in three records based on the importance of the sales zone assigned to sellers and the type of trolley or vehicle used for trade. The highest rates were determined for stationary stores and for trades running from vehicles in the primary zone, with 2,250 GBP for such trades below 10 square feet in the area and 4,500 GBP for shops between 10 and 25 square feet in the desktop. The lowest rates for push trolleys in a tertiary zone with 375 GBP for such trolleys below 10 square feet in the area.
Survey of street vendors operating businesses has been a long -term outstretched process that began years ago. In 2021, the Sales Committee decided to extend the period of survey after several street sellers were excluded for years. While the previous survey conducted in 2015 identified in the city 3,948 street sellers, a survey held in 2021 could only identify 2,442 retailers because the survey took place at a time when the COVID-19 was introduced, which led to exclusion.
Quite many sellers of street retailers included in the survey are those who have established businesses in the last decade. Some long-term retailers had a stop due to the Covid-19 pandemic and moved to other small businesses. The shops of the stores proposed to increase the number of sales zones, while some of the main roads will continue to be shaving zones.
