On Friday, Thiruvananthapuram Corporation distributed electric tricycles to Harith Karma hay workers to collect not biologically degradable waste from different locations and transported it to collection and therapeutic centers. The mayor of Ary Rajendran described tricycles as held in the company office. Members of Harith Karma hay were provided for one month of training to use electric tricycles.
The project was implemented in cooperation with the Council for the Development and Innovation of Keral (K-DISC), Social Alpha Foundation, the University of Toronto India Foundation and the Keral Institute of the local administration. Electric tricycles were one of the new ideas developed through an innovation challenge that was held as part of the innovation in the Sustainable City Transition program.
