Founder VCK thol. Thirumavalavan expressed regret on Sunday for his comment that homosexual relations were a kind of “perversion”.
Notes in response to a question to a student parliamentary event held at Tamil Nadu Agriculture University in Coimbatore in February. The incident video has recently been widely shared on social media and resulted in extensive criticism.
In his statement, Mr. Thirumavalavan said that the comment was made without any bad intentions, and understood that he had deeply injured the LGBTQ+community. He recalled that the Social Care Council was established on the basis of the appeal of VCK in the 2006 Assembly. “We also have a honor to establish a separate wing for transfers within the party. VCK will always support the LGBTQ+ community,” he added that the LGBTQ+ community will always support those including LGBTQ+ community.
