A strange increase in theft attempts at stands in the lottery in Kozhikode raised serious concerns among the lottery traders in the district. In one of the three latest incidents, the Lottery Lottery owner lost 52 Thiruvonam bumpers in the alleged burglary that occurred at the beginning of September 14. Most stand owners have no supervision mechanisms to protect their supplies.
There is no idea of the suspects yet, although the police have gathered the CCTV visuals from nearby places. According to the police, theft took place in a road shop named VK Lottery Stand near Koyilanda Bus stand, where there were no security guards. The stand was found broken when the owner arrived to open it on Sunday morning. During the inventory inspection, he found that 52 tickets, each costing 500 GBP, were missing from the highly expected draw.
“It was the third such incident in just three weeks in Koyilanda, where they are still suspected. In the first incident, the total number of lost tickets 22.
The incident came as shocking for many agents, because the mega draw is scheduled for 27 September at 14:00, which is the first prize to offer 25 crore.
“Serial numbers of stolen tickets have already been collected and reported to higher authorities. It is mainly done to prevent the payment of the prices required by such tickets and scientifically helping the wings to monitor illegal further sale,” said the Lottery Department.
As a result of recent thefts, the retailers in the field were asked to verify the authenticity of all tickets received from different channels, and immediately reported suspicious shares to higher authorities. Official counseling is also expected soon from the lottery department explaining instructions related to safe storage and handling of shares.
Police sources said the investigation was going at different levels to check if the incidents had any connection with the well -known criminal gangs operating in the district. They said that the breakthrough would be possible only after scientific exploration of the CCTV visuals.
