Elite Anti-Drug Enforcement Team (ELITE) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ake Ravi Krishna has called on women to help the unit to prevent drugs and ganja in the state.
He flagged off a trek organized as part of International Women’s Day at Mangalagiri on Sunday (March 8, 2026).
On the occasion, the IGP asked the women to gain knowledge about the harmful effects of drugs and create awareness among their children about their use.
“I am asking mothers to be EAGLE brand ambassadors and help control drugs, ganja and other narcotics in society,” said Mr. Ravi Krishna.
EAGLE Superintendent of Police K. Nagesh Kumar, Guntur District Forest Officer M. Hima Sailaja and other officers participated in the programme.
“Police and EAGLE units are organizing awareness programs against MDMA, ganja and other drugs at many places. We request women to come together and make AP a drug-free state,” the EAGLE chief said.
