They broke into a Tasmac outlet in Tiruvannamalai

Thieves camped with liquor bottles worth around ₹2 crore at a Tasmac outlet in Irumbed on Saturday.

Police said store manager K. Purushothaman (45) and shop assistant S. Palani (38) saw the damaged lock at the store’s entrance when they were about to open the shop around noon.

Several racks of alcohol bottles were also stolen. The hard drives of the CCTV cameras fixed inside the sockets were missing and the cameras were damaged.

They alerted the Arani Taluk police, who took a CCTV footage along the route where the shop was located. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
