A new yoga and naturopathy hospital and research center will open on November 3 at Komaranahalli near Harapanahalli in Vijayanagara district. Established by the Jaya Education Trust, the facility aims to provide affordable holistic healthcare based on the principles of yoga and naturopathy.
Trust Secretary Mahesh SN and Chief Medical Officer Rajesh Padekal made the announcement at a press conference in Ballari on Friday and said the inauguration would follow a series of religious programs on November 2. Siddalinga Rajadeshikendra Swami of Ujjaini Mutt and Varasadyojata Swami of Tegginamath will attend the event.
Spread over an area of 6.5 acres, the Janani Yoga and Naturopathy Hospital and Research Center will have a 100-bed capacity and offer therapies such as hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, magnetotherapy, acupuncture, diet therapy and mud therapy, along with yoga-based rehabilitation programmes. The hospital will also provide accommodation ranging from general wards to private rooms and cottages.
Dr. Padekal said the center’s services are aimed at addressing lifestyle-related health issues through natural methods. “Yoga and naturopathy are gaining global recognition for their role in preventive and holistic health care. The center will make such treatment available to people in the region who often travel long distances for similar care,” he said.
Located about 5 km from Harapanahalli, the hospital will charge inclusive of a daily fee of ₹1,200 for accommodation, food and basic treatment. The Trust has also been running a yoga and natural medicine degree program at Harapanahalli for the past three years.
Officials said the new facility would also promote wellness tourism as it is located near the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hampi.
Udayashankar Bhatt, Media and Public Relations Officer of the Janani Group of Institutions was also present at the press conference.
