Jaydev unadkat decoded the reason for Srh’s fall in the IPL 2025 campaign and credited it to the wrong bowling and change in playgrounds that reduced their playing style. Hyderabad considered it one of the most interesting teams in IPL 2024 and captured the imagination of the cricket world by their ultra -aggressive launching.
Bowling, however, played a major role in ensuring that teams are able to chase large targets down on flat decks available last year. Things on the bowling front did not work this season. Mohammed Shami, who came for big money, did not intervene at all and it was obvious during loss to GT. Captain Pat Cummins also tried to influence the ball because none of the main pitching has an economic rate below 8.
Unadkat said at a press conference after the loss of GT, that for a team that will be successful in IPL, at least 3 to 4 pitching must advance in each game. Pacer of the left shoulder said, like tabs, bowling also needs partnership, something SRH missed this season.
“From My Experience of Playing in the Ipl for All These Years, For A Team to Well, There Has to Be At Least 3 or 4 Guys, in the Terms of Your Bowling I’M Talking, Who Have to Contribute in Every Games This year, I WOULD SAY THAT WE ARE LACKING THAT.
“I think it’s the same in bowling, because if you’re not good from both ends, it creates unnecessary pressure on the other guy. Then the plans are also changing, so it somehow really didn’t click on us and yes, I think we have to blame for not being the best bowling party in the tournament.”
“If you want to win games, do well for your team, you have to be the best and we weren’t the best. I can’t say there’s something we miss when it comes to practicing and training and planning.”
“It’s just a field design that can sometimes go wrong, but as you said, in a tournament, such as IPL, when statistics show that you’re not on top of your game, teams don’t win games at that time,” Unadkat said.
‘Pitches plays a big role in IPL 2025’
Unadkat also said that last year’s 200 Plus scoring, SRH often gave a sense of setting the standard in IPL. However, Pacer said that this approach could not always be the norm, because others plan better against it.
Unadkat also said that the playground available this season was the last time more demanding as opposed to flat.
“Last year, we scored 200+ in four or five matches, and that gave us the feeling that we set the standard. But this cannot always be the norm. Other teams and doughs are now planning better, and the pitchors also adapt and come up with new strategies. We had more difficult last year.
Unadkat closed by saying that bowling must always strengthen, even if the dough has put a huge score.
“I also feel that the average score in the last few matches has increased overall. Last year we had a particularly strong tab unit that led to these high scores. But eventually the winning games are more important than scoring large sums.
While SRH retains some hope of getting into the play -offThe IPL season seems to end slowly for the finalists of last season. On Monday 5th May will continue to face DC.
