The 29 -year -old worker was reportedly clubed to death on Sunday evening in Doddaballapur.
The deceased Vijay Kumar of Malur worked as a daily wage worker in the Jal Jeevan mission near Nandi Hills, where the accused Pujappa also worked for 35 years.
On Sunday, the duo was drunk and Vijay Kumar, in a unwilling state, allegedly began to talk about the loan to his wife. Pujappa enraged, allegedly picked up the club found nearby and attacked Vijay Kumar. He kept serious head injuries and succumbed.
The rural police Doddaballapur registered the case of the murder and took the accused into custody for further investigation.
