Construction work began in the new unit of intensive care of 50 beds (ICU) in the district headquarters of Mannargudi, which strengthened the infrastructure of critical care in the region. The 20 GBP project, which is carried out by the Ministry of Medical and Public Health, will cover the area of 47 180 square feet on five floors.
On the ground floor of the upcoming facility will be a waiting room, a doctoral room, an examination room, CT scanning and X -ray rooms, observation room and toilets. The first floor is planned to include post-devils department, newborn resuscitation room, septic working room, preliminary room and employee equipment. On the second floor there will be an insulating department with 24 beds together with employees’ rooms and storage facilities. On the third floor there will be the main ICU, insulating rooms and units of emergency care. The fourth floor is accommodated by the regeneration department, the operating theater, an autoclave room and anesthesia room. The fifth and last floor will include the dialysis department, a unit of care for immersion and nursing stations.
The aim of the project is to expand the ability of the hospital to manage emergency and specialized medical cases, which benefits patients in the district of Tiruvarur and in the area. Health officials have expressed confidence that the new facility will significantly improve access to advanced medical care in the region.
