A woman riding a Pillion on a scooter was fatally knocked down by a truck tanker at the Chembumuk Crossroads near Lazhakkala along the civil line on Wednesday (April 16, 2025), around 7.45 am
The deceased was identified as Maleswars, 52, from Nettoor. She went with her husband from Palaraivattom to Kakkanad. Reportedly a truck while trying to overtake the scooter, colliding with him and throwing both riders on the road.
The victim reportedly suffered serious head injuries. Although she was rushed to a nearby private hospital, she had heard her injuries shortly afterwards. Her husband is currently undergoing treatment.
Police Thrikkakara booked a truck driver. The body of the deceased was handed over to her family.
