A 28-year-old Assam woman gave birth to a little girl at Bengaluru-New Tinsukia SuperFast Express Train at Jolarpet Railway Station early Tuesday morning.
The police said that a woman identified as K. Amrita Hora, from New Tinsukia near Guwahati, Assam, developed the lab soon after she went to the toilet in the S-5 coach at about 5.40 hours. She returned to her home town with her husband Kishan Sobor (31) from Bengalur.
She added a girl in the toilet on a train as she walked at the Jolarpet railway station at that time.
Railway staff on board on the train noticed that a woman and Soon had alerted the examiner travel tickets (TTE), who in turn informed the railway safety staff over the phone. “This is the first such incident to occur at the station. Mother and child are stable,” said Nikil Kumar Gupta, inspector, rail protection (RPF), Jolarpet.
In the rapid response, rail protection (RPF), Jolarpet, led by Mr. Gupta, deployed police staff, including the constable Pramod and Manishumar and emergency medical staff Ranjith on the railway station.
The train was stopped at the station to make it easier to move two to the ambulance. The ambulance employees provided first aid to the mother and the child before moving them to the Taluk government hospital in Tirupattur for postnatal care. Jolarpet RPF Inspector Mr. Gupta visited them in the hospital and asked their health, the police said.
