After heavy rain in the IDUKKI district, the water level in the idukki tank increased by more than 2.72 ft in 24 hours.
On Tuesday, the water level in the tank was 2 333.62 feet compared to 2,330.90 ft of the previous day.
Mulleriyar dam
The water level in the Mulperiyar dam increased by 2.45 ft in 24 hours. The water level in the tank on Tuesday was 118.10 feet on Monday compared to 115.65 ft. The maximum water level determined by the Supreme Court is 142 ft.
As the water level in the dams increased, the collector of the district of IDUKKI ordered before opening the dams to progress. According to the sources, the order was issued after opening the cap of the Malankára dam without warning. The order stated that the application should be submitted to the collector six hours before the opening of the dams. In addition, before opening dams, the authorities for disaster management (DDMA) and officials should be notified.
According to the District Administration, incidents related to rain from 24 to 27 May to one death and destroying 25 houses in the district of IDUKKI. Disturbance
The operation was disrupted on the state highway of the Kattappana-Eranakulam in Churuli near Cheruthoni on Monday evening after land landslide occurred on the route on heavy rain. Officials cleaned the debris on Tuesday morning and restored the operation.
