A Village Revenue Assistant (VRA) of Obanapalli village was allegedly assaulted on Wednesday (February 4, 2026) in the late hours of Wednesday at Chitvel Bridge in Kodur Railway. The official, identified as Kanaparthi Mani, was on his way home when he was ambushed by unknown persons who threw chilli powder on his face and brutally attacked him with a knife.
When Mr. Mani raised the alarm, nearby residents rushed to the spot to help. However, the thieves fled the scene. Mr. Mani was taken to the local government hospital and later shifted to Tirupati for better treatment. The Kodur railway police registered the case and obtained CCTV footage from nearby locations.
