Corporators and employees of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) are on a two -week study tour to various cities in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
On Monday, the team visited Nercoil Municipal Corporation in the Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nad. Commissioner Nishant Krishna welcomed VMC members while the mayor of Thir. Malesh shared knowledge of corporation management, which includes 54 divisions grouped into four zones. In addition, he discussed the methodologies of working systems of the Council Administration and Work officials.
The mayor explained that hygiene management is processed through six material renewal plants (MRF). Here the waste is segregated and is outsourced externally to specialized agencies. Said “The performance of these agencies is monitored through a key performance index.”
In the summer, the government protects from heat, distributes trains to people, including ORS bags, caps, cooling glasses and other objects.
During the inspection at the field level, the VMC team visited the knowledge center in the city, which offers students free library facilities.
TDP Corporator Vummadi Venkateswara Rao appreciated the development initiatives conducted by NerCOIL Municipal Corporation and expanded them to study developing activities conducted in Vijayawada.
