Vizianagaram District Yadava Association president Muddada Madhu Yadav on Thursday said political parties have completely ignored the community while allocating MP, MLA and MLC seats despite the community having a population of 3 million in the district.
Addressing community leaders and activists, he said the association submitted a memorandum to MLA Aditi Vijaya Lakshmi seeking the post of mayor for former TDP corporator Muddada Ramani, who he said had worked for the people in the last few years.
Mr. Madhu Yadav claimed that the Yadav community had a population of more than 60,000 in Vizianagaram city alone. He added that the community maintains friendly relations with other communities.
“TDP is trying to support Backward Classes (BC) in elections but it should not neglect the third largest community in the district. Allotment of mayor post is the best option as it is unable to allot MP and MLA seats,” he added.
Association leaders Muddada Madhu, Golagana Ramesh, Ippili Srinivasa Rao, Naidana Sateesh and others were present.
