
Harved physicians in Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital (MGMGH) from a 51 -year -old man who met with a traffic accident and was declared a dead brain, helped save lives this week.
According to a press release, the patient from Lalgudi was handed over to the emergency department of MGMGH after suffering severe head injuries in a road accident late on the night of July 25.
When the patient did not respond to treatment, he was declared a dead brain at 6.08 in the morning of July 27. After being consulted, she agreed with the mourning family to donate their authorities.
According to Transplantation Authority of Tamil Nadu (Transtan), surgeons of government hospitals were harvested by the patient’s liver, kidneys, cornea and skin.
The kidneys were donated to patients undergoing kidney treatment in private hospitals in Tiruch and Pudukottai. The liver and cornea accepted the recipients at the private hospital in Chennai, while the skin was given to the patient in Madurai, he said.
