
Priests performing ‘Snapana Thirumanjanam’ to the deities on the last day of the annual Vasanthotsavams in Tirumala on Wednesday.
The annual three-day vasanthotsavam concluded on a grand note at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala on Wednesday.
“Snapana Tirumanjanam” was given to the processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy, Goddess Sridevi and Goddess Bhudevi, Lord Kodandaram and Goddess Sita Devi, Lakshmana Swamy, Lord Anjaneya Swamy and Goddess Rukmini and Lord Sri Krishna to solemnly recite the Parasri Krishnaa Vedyanam in the midst of the hymn
Vasanthotsavam is an annual event held in Tirumala on the auspicious days of Trayodasi, Chaturdasi and Pournami in the month of Chaitra (March/April) every year to mark the beginning of the spring season.
The Utsava deities of Lord Malayappa and His consorts were given an aromatic bath for these three days, which is believed to provide soothing relief to the deities from the scorching Sun. In the last days, the deities of the three aeons, Treta, Dwapara and Kaliyuga were given an aromatic bath.
The festival was attended by the Pedda Jeeyar of the temple along with his deputy Chinna Jeeyar, Peishkar Rama Krishna and other officials.
