The US Naval Academy of Annapolis, Maryland, was briefly placed on Thursday after the news of the threats. The incident occurred only a few hours after at least eight historically black universities and universities (HBCU) and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) also stated that they would receive similar threats.
The authorities later stated that there was no trusted danger to the academy or surrounding areas after a coordinated investigation. The police were near Bancroft Hall, where Midshipmen is located in their more than 1600 tracks. According to the school website, it is considered the largest track on the dorm in the world.
