
The US Naval Academy of Annapolis, Maryland, was briefly placed on Thursday after the news of the threats. The incident occurred only a few hours after at least eight historically black universities and universities (HBCU) and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) also stated that they would receive similar threats.
The authorities later stated that there was no trusted danger to the academy or surrounding areas after a coordinated investigation. The US Naval Academy in Annapolis has worked with local coercive authorities to respond to threat reports, Lieutenant Nweed Lemar, a spokesman for the base that hosted the Academy, said in a statement.

The atement was launched “from the abundance of caution” after the naval support activity Annapolis and the local enforcement of the right received reports of potential threats focused on the prestigious military institution.
In an official statement, the city of Annapolis stated that security measures were quickly taken to ensure the safety of students, employees and population.
“The activity of naval support Annapolis and the enforcement of the right responded to reports of threats caused by the Maritime Academy,” the statement read. “The base was locked of the abundance of caution.”
The police were near Bancroft Hall, where Midshipmen is located in their more than 1600 tracks. According to the school website, it is considered the largest track on the dorm in the world.

Governor’s Governor’s office confirmed that after a joint review of local, state and federal coercive authorities, no credible threat was identified.
“When working with local, state and federal laws in criminal proceedings, there is currently no credible threat to the naval academy,” said Wbal-TV spokesman, who first announced development.
Historically black college to lock after threats
In Maryland Bowie State and Morgan State University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, 11 News said they did not get any threats and watched.
