An attempt by Pakistani journalist to question the United States on the alleged opposition of the Narendry Modi government towards de-eating interviews between India and Pakistan was firmly closed during the recent briefing of the US Ministry of the US Ministry. The replacement took place on Tuesday, in the middle of increased international attention to a ceasefire mediated between two nuclear armed neighbors.
The journalist began to portray President Donald Trump as the “peace of the Messiah”, who successfully mediated a ceasefire. He claimed that while Pakistan welcomed Trump’s efforts, Indian Prime Minister Modi did not show similar enthusiasm.
The reporter asked Tommy Pigott, the US Ministry of the State Director: “Pakistan welcomed President Trump’s efforts to bring a ceasefire between Pakistan and India and believe that President Trump could win the Nobel Peace Prize.
Pigott refused to engage in a question about Modi’s attitude, and instead repeated the focus of America on the ceasefire agreement in India-Pakistan. “This is what we like to see. This is where our focus remains. And we want to see how the ceasefire is maintained and we want to support direct communication. This is our focus here. Our focus is a ceasefire.”
He emphasized the importance of permanent dialogue between India and Pakistan and urged two nations to seek peace:
“India and Pakistan should maintain direct communication and invite two neighbors driven by nuclear drives to choose the path of peace.”
Despite the public demands of President Trump to convey a ceasefire, the new Delhi claimed that the initiative was asked by the request of the Pakistani CEO of Military Operations (DGMO) to the Indian counterpart after Indian strikes. According to Indian officials, the Pakistani request for an immediate ceasefire was powered by despair rather than by the US diplomatic intervention.
President Trump described President Trump as “peacemaking” on the topic of the Nobel Peace Prize:
“It is a peacemaker. He appreciates peace. He is also a business manufacturer and has shown that again and again and again, when it comes to the first America’s first agenda, but also to monitor peace and want to see peace and conflicts.”
Pakistani journalist did not cheat, asked further and asked if Trump was worried about the use of Indian Israeli drones during the Sindoor operation. The reporter proposed that while Trump focuses on supporting unity between Jews, Muslims and Christians through Abraham’s agreements, the deployment of Israeli drones can complicate relations between Pakistan and Israel.
Pigott again embraced the question and repeated Washington’s unique focus on ceasefire and direct communication:
“We focus only on the ceasefire and direct communication between the parties,” he insisted, adding that Trump’s interest lies in dealing with conflicts around the world.
