Washington, September 10 (PTI) The US does not need a “unfair business” with India, but the new Delhi “desperately” is looking for access to the American markets, said White House’s shop advisor Peter Navarro.
In the last few weeks, Navarro has made a number of critical remarks against India, especially for the continuing purchase of Russian oil.
US President Donald Trump has announced daily notes for White House business advisors that India and the US continue to deal with business barriers.
Trump said in a social media post that he was looking forward to an interview with Prime Minister Narendra in the coming weeks. “I feel that for both of our big countries there will be no difficulty with a successful conclusion!”
However, Navarro hit India in a number of posts on “X”.
“The US does not need unfair trade in India. However, India desperately needs access to American markets and schools and intends to continue receiving jobs,” he said.
Trump’s administration official also repeated his previous accusations that India supports Russian war machines.
“India drives Russian war chest. India is protectionist, with high -sky tariffs. The US with India operates a massive trade deficit,” said
Navarro also claimed that the “Indian tariffs with a high sky” stands the US of its work.
“India buys Russian oil purely for profit. These revenues are paying on Putin’s war machine,” he said.
Relations between the new Delhi and Washington witnessed a big decline after Trump doubled the tariffs to Indian goods to an incredible 50 percent, including 25 % of additional obligations to buy Russian oil in India.
India described the American event as “unfair, unfounded and unduly”.
