Washington (Reuters) -Three USA AEGIS with guides that are Missile destroyers will arrive from the Venezuela coast in the next 36 hours as part of their efforts to solve the threats of Latin American drug cartels, two sources said on Monday.
President Donald Trump wanted to use the army to go after the Latin American drug gangch, which were referred to as global terrorist organizations.
Sources said ships are really USS, USS Jason Dunham and USS Sampson.
A separate US official told Reuters that a total of 4,000 sailors and marines are expected to be committed to Trump’s efforts in the southern Caribbean.
The fact that an American official who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that another commitment of military assets in the wider region would include several spy aircraft P-8, warships and at least one submarine.
The official said this process would take several months and planned to operate in international airspace and international waters.
Naval assets can be used not only to perform intelligence and monitoring operations, but also as a starter for targeted strikes, if a decision is made, the official added.
Trump made an intervention on drug cartels by the central goal of his administration in a wider effort to reduce migration and ensure the southern border of the US.
Trump’s administration has already deployed at least two warships in recent months to help with the security efforts of borders and drug trafficking.
Trump’s administration was determined by the Mexican Sinaloa Cartel and other drug gangs, as well as the Venezuelan criminal group Tren de Aragua, as a global terrorist organization in February, as it increased immigration against alleged gang members.
The US Army is already increasing its air supervision of Mexican drug cartels to collect intelligence to determine how best to face their activities.
