Kalaburagi will witness a surge in spiritual fervor as the 622nd Urs-e-Sharif of revered Sufi saint Hazrat Khwaja Banda Nawaz Gesudaraz will begin on Sunday (May 3) at the 600-year-old Khwaja Banda Nawaz Dargah.
The three-day annual celebration, which takes place on the 15th day of Zul-Qa’dah in the Islamic calendar, is expected to attract thousands of devotees from across the country and abroad, crossing religious and cultural boundaries. The Dargah, an enduring symbol of the syncretic traditions of the Deccan, was decorated for the occasion.
