The University of Delhi has issued strict instructions to all headmasters of universities to prevent the property from considering during the upcoming election of student trade unions in accordance with the order of the High Court in Delhi.

Each university was asked to establish a committee, including the head of the faculty and officer of the local police station station to follow the vote -related activities.
The committees were entrusted with organizing sensitization workshops, creating the “walls of democracy” for posters and coordination with police and civil authorities to control the unauthorized campaign material.
The university also ordered that the nomination forms must have a written obligation from candidates stating that they and their supporters will not be given appreciation and that any violation attracts possible disqualification.
“These measures emphasize liability and rapid measures. Continuous alertness is mandatory to ensure our shared premises and compliance with the principles of liability and respect that define our university community,” the circle said.
The elections of students of Delhi (Dusu) for 2025-26 are to take place on 18 September and the votes will be counted another day.
Last year, the Delhi High Court detained the counting of votes for the election of DUU on the reduction of public property.
It allowed the calculation of votes to continue after the corrupt public property was cleaned and stated that its intention was “reform, not punishment”.
Candidates asked to submit bonds
In the announcement issued on August 8, Du ordered DUU candidates to submit a bond during the campaigns as a preventive measure against the reduction of assets.
