
The Association of University Teachers (Auto) urged the authorities to immediately pay the salaries of guest lecturers and administrative workers in June 2025, who work in the former Bharathidasan University (BDU) universities.
In the national team presented to the collegial education commission 11 July, the Secretary General of the Association K. Raja, he said: “Bharathidasan University has stopped salaries without prior warning from November 2023 to 81 guests/clock paid lecturers and 28 temporary non-output employees employed in seven cheap universities.
“Despite several statements and car protests, this problem remained unresolved, required by legal benefits on the Madurai bench of the Supreme Court in Madras. According to the Provisional Order, the University of Bharathidasan will be paid five -month salary for 12 months until 19 June.
The Association asked BDU to pay 25,000 GBP a month to all guests/hourly paid lecturers in accordance with government standards, along with all waiting arrears. It urged the university to revise the wages of temporary unclean wages in accordance with current standards.
The visiting instructors at government universities are paid 25,000 GBP per month. However, a similarly located faculty under the BDU received only 16,000 GBP, while temporary laboratory assistants and junior assistants were paid 11,200 GBP per month. The petition added that the daily salary rate of 633 GBP for temporary needs of employees.
“The government should take over direct liability for regular salary payments to 109 affected teachers and uncontrolled employees,” the association said in its petition.
