All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has filed a complaint with the main election commissioner and protested against the independent candidate PV Anvar’s unauthorized use of the name of the party, flags, symbols and paintings of national leaders in the Nilamburian Assembly.
In a complaint filed on Monday, state vice president of AITC Lisa Elizabeth and general secretaries Elda Abraham and Mk Ali stressed that Mr. Anvar apparently violated the election rules using the name of the Trinamool Congress.
“The nomination presented by Mr. Anvar as AITC candidate was rejected. He attacked elections as independent without knowledge or support of the AITC state or national leadership,” they said.
They demanded that the Election Commission should prevent Mr. Anvar from using the flags and symbols of Trinamool during the ongoing campaign and confiscated them.
“The use of the name of the party and its flags Mr. Anvar creates a confusion between the voters about the role of AITC in the Nilamburk apartment,” they said.
They also said that the party did not have an official position, such as a coordinator or the main coordinator, as Mr. Anvar said.
