
One person was killed, four others were injured after the tent collapsed because of the heavy rain in Bageshwar Dham in the Chhatarpur district in Madhya Pradesh, PTI reported and quoted the police.
The incident occurred around 7:30, when the devotees were looking for shelter under the tent to avoid the rain in the village of Garha, 28 km from the district mansion, the report quoted the police station Bamith in Ashutosh Shri.
The tent collapsed because of the heavy rain, left one person dead and injured four others, he said.
Two of the injured individuals were transported to a medical facility in Chhatarpur, where their condition was reported as serious, he said. Two other individuals suffered minor injuries.
Rajesh Kaushal of Chauri Sikandarpur in the Basti district in Uttar Pradesh said that his father -in -law shyamlal Kaushal (50) died as the metal frame from the tent hit his head.
He mentioned that six family members arrived in Bageshwar Dham on Wednesday evening. They came to look for a blessing from Bageshwar Dham Seer Dhirendra Shastri before his birthday on Friday. He also added that the family arrived at the venue to meet around 7:30 on Thursday.
