State TDP general secretary Paruchuri Ashok Babu on Saturday termed the rejection of MLC Jayamangalam Venkataramana’s resignation letter by Legislative Council Chairman K. Moshenu Raju as a “death blow to democracy” and attributed it to intense political pressure.
Mr. Ashok Babu pointed out that Mr. Venkataramana not only put in his papers but stood up in the House and asked the Speaker to accept his resignation but to no avail as Mr. Moshenu Raju kept it waiting for more than a year.
