The State Government has recently extended the tenure of the committee to monitor the implementation of affirmative action in education and employment by another two years. The panel – Social Justice Monitoring Committee – was set up in December 2021 and was extended for the first time in November 2023. The second extension for another two years was granted by an order issued in the first week of January.
The committee, headed by Suba Veerapandian, comprises Swaminathan Devadoss, Manushyaputhiran, Shanthi Ravindranath and K. Karunanidhi.
