The Secretary of the DMK RS Bharathi said on Thursday that the Union -led BJP government should stop using the Directorate (ED) on its whim, as a result of the (and interim) of the Supreme Court (and oral observations), which accused the investigation agency.
When he spoke to reporters, he remembered the observation of the Supreme Court that “the Directorate for enforcement exceeds all limits and violates the federal concept of administration”. The court also remained a money laundering probe against a retailer with Tamil Dilament Nadu-Run Tasmac over alleged corruption in granting wine licenses.
Mr. Bharathi claimed that the Supreme Court’s order only proved that ED functioned as a extortion organization. He pointed out that the ED official was already arrested in Kerala in the case of Crore 2 bribery and another officer was caught to receive money from a doctor in Dindigul Tamil Nadu.
He claimed that the BJP government used ED to damage the DMK government before the elections, which are only “seven months”. “She is unable to spend a winning combination of DMK and her allies. Although many cases are waiting for Tasmac for years, the BJP government focuses only on the DMK government,” he said.
“The command of the Supreme Court came as a serious blow to the government of BJP,” he added.
