On Wednesday, the Supreme Court stated that Bihar’s special intensive inspection (SIR) of the electoral role was “voter friendly” given that the 11 documents that had to be submitted by the voter, unlike only seven documents in the summary revision carried out earlier.
The notes were made by the bench of judges Surya Kant and Joylyia Bagchi when they continued to hear the dose of requests that challenge the decision of the election commission on June 24.
Unlike the arguments of the petitioners, unlike the petition requests noted that the non -exclusion of Aadhaar was excluded, a large number of acceptable documents show that Sir was “truly inclusive”.
“The number of documents in the summary revision carried out in the state was seven and in Sir there is 11, which shows that it is friendly voters. We understand your arguments that the non -acceptance of Aadhaar is exclusive, but a high number of documents is actually inclusive,” said Lavička.
SC noted that voters are obliged to submit any of the 11 documents of the ES to prove citizenship.
The petitioners argue about sir
The leader of the advocate Abhishek Singhvi, who appeared for the petitioner, disagreed with the observation of the Supreme Court and stated that the number of documents required may be high, but had the least coverage.
The lawyer quoted an example of the availability of the passport with voters and stated that only one or two percent of Bihar citizens held these documents and have no provisions for the permanent certificate of residents listed in the state.
“If we see the availability of documents with the population in Bihar, you can see that the coverage is very low,” Singhvi said.
However, the bench claimed that Bihar had 36 lamp holders, which seems good.
“The list of documents is usually prepared after taking feedback from various government offices to ensure maximum coverage,” said Bagchi.
12 August The Supreme Court stated that the integration and exclusion of citizens or non-elections from election roles was within the election commission and supported its stand so that Aadhaar and voters as convincing evidence of citizenship in the list of voters in Bihar.
