Princess Krishnajammanni Super Specialty Hospital, functioning under Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMCRI), Mysuru, has been upgraded with modern hi-tech equipment at par with private and corporate hospitals to improve patient care.
Newly introduced facilities include a neuro cath lab, designed for advanced neurological procedures such as stroke treatment, as well as a lithotripsy facility for the non-invasive treatment of kidney stones. The addition of these facilities allows the hospital to offer specialized treatment to patients visiting the hospital.
This development was highlighted during a review meeting chaired by MLA, K. Harish Gowda at MMCRI in Mysuru on Tuesday.
To ensure the trouble-free operation of the sophisticated equipment, the hospital has appointed specialist technicians on contract, who provide 24/7 services to patients.
MMCRI Dean and Director KR Dakshayani said, “The super specialty hospital is fully equipped with cutting-edge equipment and expert technicians. Patients can avail these services to the full.”
She further said that another MRI machine worth ₹8 crore is being added to the hospital through the donation. At present, one MRI machine is available at Krishna Rajendra Hospital and the new installation at the super specialty hospital will strengthen the diagnostic services, she added.
Overall, the outpatient services in all the five hospitals under MMCRI take care of more than 2,200 patients daily, the director said.
She also noted that additional ventilators and heaters were being sought for Cheluvamba Hospital to improve medical facilities.
