Main Minister Odisha Mohan Majhi assured a strict action against those who are responsible for setting up the statue of the former main minister and legendary Biju Patnaik in the Balangir district, after the demonstration of Biju Janata condemned the act of vandalism.
Mr. Majhi expressed deep anxiety over the incident of burning the statue in Patnagarh. He states that the person involved in this incident had to be cowardly and a person with a sick mentality ordered the main minister to take strong steps in this incident.
“So far, one person has been arrested in this incident. If there is a conspiracy behind this incident, it should be exposed,” he said in a statement. Mr. Majhi added that the state government believes in honor of all the great leaders of the state.
“Vindictive Politics”
The incident condemned Biju Janata Dal (BJD) a demonstration at the Biju Patnaik International Airport and accused the government led by Mohan Majhi to indulge in vengeful policies.
“Biju Patnaik is a symbol of the pride of Odia and a fighter of freedom, who contributed to the liberation of three nations. He crossed political association and belonged to all Odias.” The silence of the state government is shocking and unacceptable, “he added.
He also claimed that such attempts to insult the legacy of the Biju Patnaik are becoming increasingly common throughout the state, which warns that BJD will not tolerate the ongoing defamation of such an iconic leader. Previously, in the Cuttack district, the head of the statue of Biju Patnaik was separated by miscreants.
