Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday slammed the YSR Congress Party and its president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that the state was left without an identity during his regime and was now opposing Amaravati as the only capital.

Mr. Naidu participated in the launch of ‘Jaladhara’, a 100-day water conservation action plan, at Yadika in Tadipatri Assembly constituency. Farmers and party activists welcomed him with placards bearing the Amaravati logo and “Jai Amaravati” slogans.
Addressing the gathering, he said that people can now proudly say that the state has a capital, Amaravati. He argued that the previous government had played a “three-card” game with its proposal for three capitals, while the current government was committed to a single capital. He said that of the 50 political parties represented in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, all except the YSRCP extended support to Amaravati in Parliament.
Referring to the MAVIGUN (Machilipatnam-Vijayawada-Guntur) proposal, Mr. Naidu said that those who do not even want to take the name Amaravati are now coming up with alternative proposals. He alleged that those who were unable to digest the rapid acceleration of work in Amaravati leveled allegations of corruption in the construction of the capital.
Mr. Naidu also accused the YSRCP of hurting people’s sentiments by allegedly using adulterated ghee in the preparation of laddus at Tirumala temple and said the taste of Tirupati laddu has improved. He asked the people not to support any individual or party that works against the development of the state or tries to threaten investors.
