
Kerala received 36% of excess summer rain, which brought relief from intensive summer heat. Isolated spells at regular intervals also maintain daily maximum temperature within many parts of the state. The state has so far received 185.9 mm rain against a diameter of 136.3 mm in the period from 1 March to 29 April. The prognosis of the extended range issued by the meteorological department in India also predicts cumulatively above normal precipitation above Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep in the first week of May.
