
The State Election Commission has received something over one Lakh request for a new entry on the list of voters within three days of the publication of roles.
The Commission, headed by A. Shajahan, stated on Saturday that since the publication of the proposal of the voters’ list 23.
Of these, 1,05,948 applications were fresh. The remaining applications concerned repair, transposition and deletion.
The Commission provided time by August 7 for the public to include their names, remedied errors, or make changes to the contributions. Online applications must be filed via the Commission’s website https://sec.kerala.gov.in/
The list of proposals published on July 23 has 2 66 78 256 voters. The proposal is based on the list used in the elections to local bodies 2020, which subsequently underwent revisions in 2023 and 2024 and during multiple instructions. During the revision of 2023, 8.76,879 names (deceased and shifted voters and duplicated names) were removed from the list, while 57,640 new names were added. During the revision 2024, 4,52,951 names were removed and 2,68,907 names were newly enrolled, the Commission said.
Election officers of the registration (ERO) were asked to make repairs, if the voters were re -evaluated to the department or polling stations to match the defined department, the Commission said. After defining the department in Panchayats, municipalities and corporations, the population was moved to match the reorganized department.
