SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Center hosted a three-day conference on Bioinformatics and Computational Biology covering developments in modern life sciences including population genomics, cancer genomics, microbial genomics, computational drug discovery, vaccine design, antimicrobial resistance, digital pathology and AI-driven biomedical research.
Titled IndiBioCom 2026, the conference featured experts and speakers from leading academic and research institutions in the country, including K. Thangaraj, CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, and GPS Raghav, Director, IIT Delhi.
R. Jayanthi, Dean (Physician), SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, highlighted the importance of merging computational science and clinical medicine to develop patient-centric healthcare solutions. Sunil K. Narayan, Dean (Research), emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing bioinformatics, computational biology, and the future of biomedical research.
