Emphasizing the importance of voting and achieving 100% voter turnout in the upcoming assembly elections, an awareness program was held at the Cuddalore Collectorate on Wednesday.
The aim of the campaign, organized as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative, was to achieve 100% voter turnout in the upcoming elections by raising awareness of voting rights and the responsibility of participating in elections.
District Election Officer and Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar inaugurated the programme.
As part of the awareness programme, government officials pledged to cast their vote in the upcoming elections. The main objective was to create public awareness and achieve 100% voter turnout in the district.
Mr. Kumar said that various drives including signature campaigns, awareness rallies have been launched as part of the awareness initiative in all the nine assembly segments in the district. “Selfie points” were installed with a message for voters, the Collector said.
He urged first-time voters who are 18 years old to register to vote and fulfill their democratic duty.
