President Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Mayawati named Akash Anand on Sunday (May 18, 2025) as the main national coordinator of the party during a special meeting in Nový Delhi.
The meeting was attended by the Central Executive Committee of BSP, the head of the Office at national and state level and representatives from all over the country.

Mrs. Mayawati hoped that this time Akash Anand, her nephew, to take all the measures in the interest of the party and the movement, will strengthen the ideological foundations of the BSP.
“We hope that Akash Anand, this time, will take measures carefully in the interest of the party and the movement strengthening the ideological foundations of the party,” reads the statement of BSP.

BSP announced that he would only fight with the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. “Separate discussion on Bihar surveys and the party decided to fight alone with all force,” reads the statement of BSP. BSP, who criticized vandalism of the statues of Dr. Bedcara and Gautama Buddha, demanded that state governments should make such incidents serious and start strict steps on the culprits.
BSP appreciated the armed forces for their success in Sindoor operation. “Every Indian greetings of the army’s cast, operations against terrorists and their infrastructure have shown the power of our armed forces,” BSP added.
