Three days after the Keral government moved the admirality suit in front of the Kerala High Court, which was looking for an arrest of the MSC Akiteta-2 vessels owned by MSC, such as a certainty for compensation for 9,531 GBP. The compensation was required for pollution of the sea and the coast, the loss of fishermen’s livelihood, and the “remediation” measures as a result of the sinking of the MSC Elsa-3 container ship on the coast of Alappuzha 25.
Then the justice bench Ma Abdul Hakhim expanded the interim arrests of MSC Akiteta-2, which is anchored in the port of Vishinjam until 6 August and published the case of hearing on the day.
Firm assertion
The transport company claimed that there was no report on oil pollution after sinking the vessel and that the oil gloss, which spread within one maritime mile from MSC Elsa 3, was completely removed by the “ship owner”. He also stated that the claim was exaggerated due to lack of support documents.
The Court ordered the Government to file its affidavit with support documents within two weeks, and the applicant’s company to file its authorization if it exists in the next period for one week to finally eliminate the application.
