The State Education Commission (SEP), led by Sukhadeo Thorat, asked the Ministry of Higher Education to submit further extensions. The ministry handed over the request to the Chief Minister Siddaramaiaha.
The Commission stated that the report was prepared, but the translation to Cannada was going on and needed it for at least another month.
“At the request of the commission, it was looking for time until the end of May. The decision will be accepted by the main minister. We handed over the request,” said MC Sudhakar, Minister of Higher Education.
However, the sources at the Ministry revealed that the Minister did not want to extend again, because the Commission has not fulfilled two deadlines to present the final report.
Previously, the Commission announced that the SEP report would be submitted to the government by the end of February 2024. Later it was shifted to the end of April. However, the Commission submitted a temporary report to the government in May 2024 and stated that the final report would be submitted by August.
Meanwhile, the Commission, which failed to fulfill this deadline, submitted to the government in September 2024 for another six months. The Government adopted this application has devoted time to February 2025 to send a message.
“If the Commission fulfills even more, we will take decisions for students,” the Minister explained.
According to his Manifesto in the elections to the State Assembly 2023, Congress, after he came to power, decided to withdraw the national educational policy (NEP-2020) and created a separate commission for SEP 12 October 2023.
