CEO Andhra Pradesh Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APMSIDC) G. Veerapandian said on Tuesday (August 5, 2025) that the selection procedure for providing hygiene and services for hospitals and medical institutions was carried out in a transparent manner.
Reaching media in the APMSIDC office in Mangalagiri, Mr. Veerapandian, also the Health and Family Care Commissioner, said the Ministry officials felt the need to issue clarification after the issues were raised by several media media regarding the selection procedure.
He said that there are a total of 136 hospitals and medical institutions in the state, 28 of which are under the work of the Directorate for Medical Education (DME) and 108 are under the touch of Secondary Health (DSH). While all government general hospitals fall under DME, smaller hospitals are under DSH.
APMSIDC demanded offers two months ago for the provision of hygiene services in hospitals under DME and DSH. However, it was abolished due to the confusion resulting from the eligibility criteria that are the same for both types of hospitals.
Previously, they set two parameters to select the applicant. They had to quote consumables and equipment of the equipment as well as operating expenditure on the workforce. But because the same parameters applied to hospitals falling into both categories that differ in size and scope of work, the candidates could not quote correctly, the Commissioner added.
In fresh APMSIDC offers he took DME and DSH as two separate categories. The parameters were also changed. Instead of two, there is one parameter for the selection of applicants, which requires only operating expenditure on the workforce.
A total of 13 candidates were qualified in both categories, Mr. Veerapandian said, adding that no agency had a history of criminal cases or was on a blacklist. All agencies were well examined by officials, he said.
